Gt Brickhill Diamond Jubilee celebrations

You all braved the rain and cold!

To celebrate Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, Great Brickhill  installed a beacon on the village Cricket Ground which in parallel with thousands of other village beacons around the country was lit at 10 pm on Monday 4th June.

The Parish Council sponsoried a free village music festival entitled Singing in the Reign, which was held on the cricket ground during the afternoon and evening of the special Jubilee day public holiday, 5th June.  A diverse range of live  music was  arranged which pleased most music tastes, compred by DJ Dave Lee-Travers.  Despite less than idea weather, the event was very well attended and has received rave reviews from attendees.

” A Credit to the village” being the pick of the bunch.

Refreshments and food were available to sustain the revellers  through the event.

We are particularly keen to receive any photographs of the event  suitable for displaying here.  If you have any you would like to share, please send to the webmaster

Posters publicising both eevents are available here as a download in pdf form.
