    Hello,

I am enquiring about possible venue hire of the hall for a joint 20th & 21st birthday party on the 27th April 2013. Would this be something you could hire the hall out for and what would the costs involved be, I know the cricket club has a bar could this be open for the occasion? If it helps my Partner Robert Hiles is a Great Brickhill cricket member.

I can also be contacted on – 07538931019

    Kind regards

    Nadine

Hello, I was wondering if my 15 year old son could drink alcohol inside the hall, Thank you

    • I am not sure, I am no expert here but I suppose it will depend on whether it is a private party or not and no sale has taken place and whether there will be a supervising adult there who is preventing access to the hall by the general public.
      The law says:
      It is not illegal:
For someone over 18 to buy a child over 16 beer, wine or cider if they are eating a table meal together in licensed premises.
For a child aged 5 to 16 to drink alcohol at home or on other private premises.

Maybe best check elsewhere to be absolutely certain of tell you son not to drink alcohol just to be on the safe side.

Can I say How disappointed I was to hear that the meeting in November to discuss the introduction of Fibre Optic Broadband to the village.

I was less than Impressed by the minute published in the Parish News for this month that installation has been delayed. If it has it’s news to me as workmen have been installing ducting and laying cable on Green End for nearly 2 weeks!!

Gigaclear website is estimating going FO live in May.

Time is getting short and I feel that there are more questions to be asked than are currently being answered, in fact the dearth of information from GBH PC is somewhat lacking

What is the prospect of a meeting taking place anytime soon to give residents an opportunity to voice any questions?

    • Anthony Middleton:

The flow of information into the GBPC has been less than plentiful. Having started on the premise that we would be best served by Vale Broadband due to the information presented by the council representatives that visited us, we have been left in the dark as to why they have missed all of their target dates in the meantime. At the end of January a representative from Gigaclear came to meet with some of the GBPC and explained there had been a lot of communication and misunderstanding around Great Brickhill Broadband, but that they would actually be installing their cable forthwith. We ourselves were only made aware that is was Gigaclear doing the ducting and cable laying at the meeting of Tuesday 7th February.

A residents meeting is planned for 20th February 2017 at 7:30pm in the Parish Hall where Gigaclear will openly answer any questions. This is as much information as we have to hand. In the meantime, David Bratt is the appointed village broadband champion and you can address further concerns to him directly. Hope that helps?
